During a recent meeting in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland discussed the progress of ongoing bilateral trade negotiations between the two nations. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the third gathering of finance ministers and central bank governors.
Freeland expressed interest in Canadian Pension Funds investing in Indian Infrastructure Funds, citing India’s stable investment environment as a significant incentive.
A tweet from the Indian finance ministry confirmed that the ministers also discussed ongoing trade-related negotiations between the two countries.
