INDIA alliance leader Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday, said that the opposition bloc will hold a meeting tomorrow. His statement came hours ahead of the declaration of Lok Sabha Election results, which has witnessed a neck-to-neck competition between the INDIA bloc and BJP-led NDA alliance. “We are going to have a meeting with our alliance partners tomorrow…we respect our alliance partners and we won’t make statements to the press without asking them,” he said.
This came as the Gandhi scion won from Wayanad And Rae Bareli. He gained 6,47,445 votes from Wayanad and 6,86,044 votes from Rae Bareli. After his victory, he said, “I have won from Rae Bareli and Wayanad and thank the voters. I need to decide which seat I will retain. I haven’t decided yet.”
It is pertinent to note that any party or coalition needs at least 272 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats to govern at the center. Should the NDA win under Modi’s leadership, he will become the first Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to achieve three consecutive terms.
