In all districts of Haryana, new collector rates were supposed to be enforced from January 1. However, their implementation will be delayed for a while. The decision to defer the implementation of these collector rates in the current period has been temporarily suspended by the FCRA. This decision provides relief to people for a few days, allowing them to register their land or property at the existing rates until the new collector rates come into effect.
The decision to implement the new collector rates has not been finalized, leaving the situation unclear. FCRA has instructed officials to proceed with registrations based on the existing collector rates until further orders are issued. Consequently, people can register their properties in their respective areas at the current rates until the new collector rates are applied, providing temporary relief.
After the introduction of the new collector rates, there may be an increase in the government rates for various commercial and residential properties. Nevertheless, the district administration and the revenue department in all districts had prepared extensively for the new collector rates before their supposed enforcement from January 1. However, notification to implement the new collector rates has been communicated to revenue officials only on Friday night by the FCRA.
The date for implementing the new collector rates is not yet determined. Since FCRA has instructed the registration based on the previous collector rates until new rates are applied, people are expected to take advantage of this opportunity and register their properties in their areas starting Monday. After the implementation of the new collector rates, additional payments will be required for registration.
The collector rates were previously determined by seeking estimated rates from all tehsildars based on a specific formula, which was used to adjust rates for each area. This process was again followed this time, but in the last week of the month, the government gave directions to determine the collector rates based on computer calculations.
After this, the data of last year’s collector rates was included in the computer, and the assessment of the new collector rates was made. In Ambala, 35 objections have been received regarding the new collector rates. It is expected that these objections will be resolved in the first week of January.
Directions have been received from the FCRA, due to which the new collector rates will not be enforced from January 1. Registrations will be done at the existing rates, and as soon as instructions for implementing the new collector rates are received in the future, actions will be taken accordingly. We have already completed preparations in this regard.
