Hours after being barred from running for office in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi declared on Friday that he is willing to pay any price to protect the opinion of India.
“I am battling for the voice of India and I am willing to pay any price,” the 52-year-old former Congress president declared in a Hindi tweet.
Announcing his disqualification, the Lok Sabha Secretariat in a notification said that it was effective from March 23, the day of his conviction.
On Thursday, Surat has announced 2 years sentenced to Gandhi for defamation case, filed on a complaint by BJP MLA Purnesh Modi for his remark, “How come all thieves have Modi as the common surname?”
