I.N.D.I.A alliance to begin seat-sharing discussion very soon: KC Venugopal

After the I.N.D.I.A Alliance Coordination Committee meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Wednesday said that the committee has decided to start the process for determining seat-sharing “at the earliest”. The first meeting of the Coordination Committee of the I.N.D.I.A alliance was held at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence in the national capital.
“The first meeting of the Coordination Committee was held today at the residence of Sharad Pawar and was attended by 12 parties. Abhishek Banerjee of All India Trinamool Congress could not attend the meeting due to a summon by the Enforcement Directorate, arising out of the vendetta politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” the joint statement read.
“The Coordination Committee has decided to start the process for determining seat-sharing. It was decided that member parties would hold talks and decide at the earliest,” it stated.
“The parties present in the meeting agreed to take up the issue of Caste Census,” it stated.
“The coordination committee authorised the Sub-Group on Media to decide upon the names of the anchors on whose shows none of the I.N.D.I.A parties will send their representatives,” it added.
Meanwhile, according to the sources, the seat-sharing formula will be prepared by the I.N.D.I.A alliance parties not only for the general elections but also for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, MP, Telangana and other states.
The member parties will sit together to formulate a strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls.  The next I.N.D.I.A Alliance meeting will be held after the Parliament special session.

BJP slams I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting as get together of ‘Anti-Hindu Coordination Committee’

New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday slammed the I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting as a get together of “Anti-Hindu Coordination Committee” as it kept the heat on the Opposition over the Sanatan Dharma issue following DMK leaders’ strident criticism of the ancient faith. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over the issue, alleging that she has penned “a book: Murder of Hinduism, She Wrote” on the lines of the famous suspense book “Murder, She Wrote”. He told a press conference that non-cooperation among the I.N.D.I.A group members is visible, making light of the agenda of the meeting that Opposition parties will discuss seat-sharing arrangements. “They will discuss how to finish off the Hindu religion,” Patra alleged.
