‘I don’t consume red meat’ Kangana Ranaut clarifies ‘baseless’ allegations

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut clarified on Monday that she neither consumes beef nor any other kind of red meat, emphasizing her identity as a “proud Hindu”.

“I don’t consume beef or any other kind of red meat. It is shameful that completely baseless rumours are being spread about me. I have been advocating and promoting yogic and Ayurvedic way of life for decades now. Such tactics won’t work to tarnish my image. My people know me and they know that I am a proud Hindu, and nothing can ever mislead them. Jai Shri Ram,” Kangana stated in a post on X on Monday.

Kangana’s statement comes in response to online ‘rumours’ alleging that she consumes beef. Some social media users even resurfaced an old tweet from 2019 where Kangana had mentioned her yogic lifestyle. However, the post was not directly from her and mentioned her lifestyle choices in the third person.

Earlier, Maharashtra Leader of Opposition, Vijay Wadettiwar, claimed that Kangana Ranaut had once tweeted about her preference for beef consumption and suggested that her political affiliations might have changed due to this.

Kangana recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and has been fielded from the Mandi constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Expressing her gratitude and commitment to the party, Kangana announced her political entry in a post on X, affirming her loyalty to the party’s decision and expressing eagerness to serve as a dedicated member.

On the cinematic front, Kangana’s upcoming project “Emergency” holds special significance as it marks her debut as a solo director alongside her acting role.
