HSSC TO CONDUCT 1 LAKH NEW APPOINTMENTS IN 4 YEARS: CHAIRMAN

Bhopal Singh, a member of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, has been appointed as the new Chairman of HSSC at least for three years following the completion of the tenure of B.B Bharti on 23 March 2021. Besides, five new members of the commission have also been appointed. The state government conducted an oath-taking ceremony here on Wednesday where Chairman along with four members were sworn in. While another member Kanwal Jeet Saini was not part of it as he is a government employee and could not provide a NOC. While talking to The Sunday Guardian, Bhopal Singh, who is post graduate in eight subjects and holds a law degree, informed that HSSC has come up with a strategy to make at least 1 lakh appointments in the forthcoming four years. Before this, the commission has provided government jobs to nearly 80,000 candidates in the last four years which is an outstanding example in the history of the state.

  Thus, it indicates the working style of the commission. Regarding the question paper leak, he outrightly rejected it and said that during the BJP regime in the last six years, not even a single incident of paper leak took place which is a positive aspect so far. Apart from those who will be found involved in any kind of cheating or such activities, would be dealt with stern action.

  On being asked about the responsibility of the Chairman, Bhopal said that he is committed to fulfilling the expectations and will not leave any stone unturned to conduct fair exams of recruitment. Being a member of HSSC for the last six years would undoubtedly help him out. Bhopal said that transparency, eligibility, and merit are the key factors that would decide the selection of candidates in upcoming appointments. Along with this, the commission would not hesitate to make every possible use of technology for the transparent conduct of exams as it was used at a large scale in D group appointments. The One Time Password Scheme will be used. When questioned about the recruitments stuck due to sub judice matter, he said that the High Court has a positive attitude towards the HSSC at least for the last one year as the commission performed to expectations.
