Regarding the heinous incident involving the principal of the government school in Uchana, Jind district, and the allegations exchanged in the House between Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala and former Education Minister and Congress MLA, Smt. Geeta Bhukkal, Leader of the House and Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that the issue is not to cast aspersions on anyone.
He further clarified that once the House has unanimously agreed that the sitting Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court will investigate the case involving the Principal of Government School in Uchana, Jind, the process will have to be completed. Today, a letter will be written to the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on behalf of the Home Department. If the Chief Justice declines the proposal that the sitting Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court will investigate the case, the House can reconsider the further course of action, said Sh. Manohar Lal while speaking in the House on Monday.
He emphasized that both the ruling party and the opposition bear the responsibility of upholding the House’s dignity. Despite the opposition habitually calling for inquiries by sitting judges on various matters, when all House members unanimously supported investigating the issue under a sitting judge, what grounds does the Leader of the Opposition have for objection?
