Himachal yatra halted for rest of season, here’s death toll

The Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra has been ordered to suspend for the rest of the season after 6 deaths were recorded during the pilgrimage.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over a State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) review meeting and stated that the state has reported 17 deaths as a result of severe rain. According to him, the initial loss estimate ranged between 3000 and 4000 crore.

Additionally, attempts are planned to use helicopters to evacuate some 300 stranded tourists and people in the Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu areas if the weather permits.
