The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday sought reply from the Punjab government for its decision to withdraw the security of 424 people in the state.
The high court also asked the state government how the list of those whose security has been withdrawn has been made public. The Punjab government will have to submit its reply to the High Court by June 2 in a sealed envelope.
The High Court passed the order while processing a petition filed by former Congress Minister OP Soni against the reduction of security.
Meanwhile, Akali Dal leader Vir Singh Lopoke has also filed a petition in the High Court against the withdrawal of his security. The High Court issues notice to the Punjab government and orders immediate deployment of two security personnel to Lopoke.
