The Heritage Municipal Corporation has secured victory in Swachh Survekshan 2023 conducted under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. Recognized for its outstanding efforts in the cleanliness survey, Municipal Corporation Heritage stands distinguished among the municipal corporations of the state.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, will confer the award to Heritage Corporation at a ceremony in New Delhi on January 11. Mayor Munesh Gurjar, Commissioner Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Deputy Health Commissioner will be present in Delhi to receive the honour.
In a recent initiative, Heritage Municipal Corporation prioritized cleanliness through the cleanliness survey, leveraging resources from the smart city. Hoppers for garbage collection and leaper drinking machines were made available.
A Rs 10 crore project for the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) in the heritage area was completed, and efforts for Waste to Energy gained momentum. A dedicated team was assigned to monitor the city’s cleanliness system, and officers were given specific responsibilities. To eliminate open garbage depots, permanent hoppers were installed, with guards deployed to prevent garbage from spilling onto the roads. The award is based on several parameters, including city beautification, waste disposal, proper toilet facilities, public awareness, and the overall cleanliness system. Heritage Municipal Corporation Jaipur and Dungarpur are the two cities selected from the state for their exceptional work in Swachh Survekshan 2023. Dungarpur, consistently excelling in cleanliness, is being honoured at the small-town and municipality level.
In the previous Swachh Survekshan, Heritage Municipal Corporation secured the 26th position in the country, with parameters such as door-to-door garbage collection, waste segregation, disposal, toilet maintenance, city cleanliness system, and public cooperation being considered.
