A comprehensive security perimeter was established around Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, in Patna, a day before the crucial floor test for the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government. As part of preparations for the significant trust vote, MLAs were relocated to secure locations, prompting the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to accuse the police of attempting to enter Tejashwi’s residence to instigate untoward incidents against party MLAs.

The RJD expressed its defiance, asserting, “Nitish Kumar has sent thousands of police and surrounded Tejashwi ji’s residence from all sides. They want to enter the residence on any pretext and create untoward incidents with the MLAs.” The party underscored its dedication to the ongoing ideological struggle, declaring, “This is a struggle of ideology, and we will fight it and win because the justice-loving people of Bihar will oppose this police repression.”

Addressing the police deployment, RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav voiced concern, stating, “This has never happened (earlier) in any state in independent India.” He pointed out a perceived double standard, saying, “If BJP holds a similar meeting, it’s deemed fine, but when the RJD goes into a huddle, they are frowned upon.”

In response to RJD’s accusations, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain argued that the police were simply performing their duties. He clarified, “If you (Tejashwi Yadav) kidnap the MLAs and any MLA’s relative files a complaint, the police will surely come. If you (Tejashwi Yadav) keep any MLA tied up in your house, the police will surely take action. They (police) are only doing their job.”

While RJD raised concerns about missing MLAs, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain dismissed them, asserting that all NDA MLAs were in contact. He accused the Opposition of spreading confusion and affirmed the alliance’s majority in the Assembly.

The article concludes by summarizing the political developments, including Nitish Kumar’s oath as chief minister, his alliance with the BJP, and the upcoming trust vote.
