The Health Department, as part of the TB-free India initiative, has identified 25 Gram Panchayats in the district, out of a total of 134, where there are either no TB patients or only one patient currently undergoing treatment.
A ceremony is scheduled to honor these selected Gram Panchayats at the district-level program on World TB Day, which falls on March 24th. Panchkula district holds the second position in the state for overall TB success points in the year 2023. Dr. Monica Kauda, the Sub-Civil Surgeon and Nodal Officer (TB) for Panchkula, revealed that among the 137 Gram Panchayats in the district, 25 have been designated as TB-free by the Health Department. Specifically, five Panchayats in Block Kalka and 20 Panchayats in Raipur Rani have achieved the status of TB-free Gram Panchayats.
