Haryana witnesses 3 murders, 4 rape cases, and 9 abductions a day

Haryana continues to witness spurt in heinous crime as 3 murders, 4 rape cases and 9 kidnappings are being reported a day in the state which is a matter of serious requiring the police department to tighten the noose around the neck of criminals . The represented during assembly session revealed the aforesaid information and the same appears to be major embarrassment for the police department. It is pertinent to mention that the state saw more kidnapping , rapes and murders in the state as compared to chain snatching in the state for over past 80 months.

The above mentioned information was laid by Haryana Home minister Anil Vij in the assembly during the question hour of first sitting of winter session of Haryana Assembly. Vij provided the information in a response to the questions moved by Congress MLA Jagbir Singh Malik.

The Congress legislature Jagbir Malik had sought the category wise information of crimes and conviction rate in the state since March 2015 till November 30 this year. Notably, the conviction rate too had embarrassed the police department.

So far as the conviction rate is concerned, the highest 45.99% conviction was seen in murder cases in 2019, while it came down to 42.95 % in 2020 while no data was available for the current year.

Similarly, Haryana has seen highest 1666 rapes so far this year. This is followed by 1655 in 2019 and 1503 in 2018. On the conviction side, highest conviction rate of 24.73 % was reported in 2015 while last year it was 20.65% . The maximum number of abduction cases (4223) was registered in the year 2018, while this year, 2970 cases have been registered so far.
