All preparations have been completed for the election of Sarpanch and Panch posts in the 9 districts of the second phase. Polling will be held for the post of 2,683 Sarpanch and 25,655 Panch posts in 57 blocks of 9 districts, Ambala, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat on November 12. There are a total of 48, 67, 132 voters in 9 districts of the second phase. These include 25, 89, 270 males, 22, 77, 795 females, and 67 others. Sh. Dhanpat Singh informed that there are 5,963 polling stations in these 9 districts, out of which 976 are sensitive and 1023 are highly sensitive stations.
In the nine districts where the second phase of polling is going to be held, all the preparations related to security and all other facilities have been completed. Necessary guidelines have been issued to all the concerned District Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Supervisors for conducting the polls in a fair and peaceful manner. Along with this, a heavy police force has been deployed at sensitive polling booths.
The results of the polling for the post of Panch and Sarpanch will be declared after the counting of votes. At the same time, the voting of Panchayat Samiti members and Zilla Parishad Committee members of the second phase was completed on November 9. The results of these elections will be declared after the counting of votes on November 27, 2022 after the completion of the elections of Panchayat Samiti members and Zilla Parishad members in all 22 districts.
The state election commissioner Dhanpat Singh said that the activities of Panchayat elections will be updated on the ‘Mhari Panchayat Portal’.
