Strict action is being taken against the construction of unauthorized buildings in green belts on scheduled roads and national highways in Haryana, according to a statement by Agriculture Minister J P Dalal on Friday. During the state assembly’s Question Hour, Dalal responded to a question raised by Congress member B B Batra, stating that over 1,700 unauthorized constructions have been detected, with many already demolished. The information about such buildings, whether residential or commercial, their construction period, and action taken was placed on the table of the House.
Dalal’s reply witnessed some exchanges between him and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Hooda accused the minister of not answering the question directly and claimed that he was deviating from it. Meanwhile, INLD lone MLA Abhay Singh Chautala took on the government, saying he had not been given a satisfactory reply to his question regarding the agricultural loans that were outstanding towards the farmers of the state.
