During a press conference on Thursday, the Chief Minister announced plans for Haryana to have its ‘State Anthem.’ A proposal to this effect will be introduced in the upcoming winter session of the Legislative Assembly, commencing on December 15, 2023. The Chief Minister disclosed that the government has chosen three songs through competitive processes. All three songs will be presented in the Assembly, and the one with the most votes will be designated as the state anthem for a year. “After our government came to power, we ensured that at least 3 sessions of the Vidhan Sabha, i.e. Budget Session, Monsoon Session and Winter Session are called so that legislators get more opportunities to participate. In the previous government, only 2 sessions were called,” said Manohar Lal.
He said that a meeting will be held on December 28, 2023, in Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to discuss the ongoing SYL issue between Haryana and Punjab, with both Chief Ministers of the states in attendance.
