Rain in Haryana gave great relief to the people from smog and pollution. The drizzle which started after 12 o’clock in the night continued intermittently till morning. The cold has also increased due to the drop in temperature due to rain. The shadow smog has also disappeared since many days.
There was intermittent drizzle in the night in Rewari, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Charkhi-Dadri, Hansi, Hisar, Sirsa, Jhajjar. Apart from this, in Gurugram and Faridabad also the sky is cloudy with light drizzle since morning. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be drizzle in many districts of the state today. The minimum temperature has dropped to 15 degrees Celsius.
A day earlier on Thursday, due to pollution, the situation in many districts was so bad that the Air Quality Index (AQI) had reached the very poor category. AQI 441 was recorded in Rewari in the afternoon. This was the worst situation of pollution till date.
The situation had remained bad in most of the districts of the state since last one week. Due to which school holidays had to be declared in Jhajjar, Panipat, Rohtak, Gurugram and Faridabad.
According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in Ambala on Friday was 15.1 degrees Celsius. Whereas in Gurugram a temperature of 18.5 degree Celsius has been recorded. In the rest of the districts of the state it was 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. After the change in weather, there will be a decline in the minimum as well as the maximum temperature in the coming days.
There was a sudden change in the weather on Thursday night. After some wind blowing, light drizzle started after 12 o’clock in the night. It continued to drizzle for about a quarter of an hour. After stopping for some time, the drizzle continued intermittently till 4:30 in the morning. Even though the rain was light, this drizzle has brought great relief to the people who have been suffering from pollution for many days.
After drizzle the temperature has dropped by 2 degrees Celsius. After the drop in temperature, the cold has increased before the festival of Diwali. The smog that had been hanging over the roads for several days has completely disappeared. On Friday morning, the weather was clear in some districts and cloudy in others. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather may remain like this for the next one or two days. Drizzle and drop in temperature are very beneficial for the farmers.
