Haryana Police Chief Announces Establishment of E-Libraries in Every District

Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, has announced the establishment of a hybrid e-library equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in every district of Haryana. These e-libraries will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, providing children with a dedicated space for reading, learning, and skill development. During a weekly meeting with senior police officers, Mr Kapur emphasized the urgent need to establish e-libraries in every district, underlining the significance of nurturing a reading habit from an early age. He outlined a two-pronged approach for these e-libraries, focusing on skill development and creating a conducive workstation for students. Quality will be the top priority in setting up these e-libraries, ensuring that students accessing these resources can acquire high-quality knowledge. Additionally, language learning provisions will be integrated to enhance future employment prospects and income-generating opportunities. Accessibility for all will be a primary consideration when selecting e-library locations. Notably, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, recently announced the establishment of e-libraries in the state during an address in Madhuban. Mr Kapur also revealed plans to expand the number of crèches available for police officers’ children, providing a secure and nurturing environment for children while their parents are on duty. The discussion also included insights from the DIG of the Women Safety Wing, Nazneen Bhasin, who shared the successful outcomes achieved by the Kurukshetra crèche and outlined intentions to replicate these achievements in various other districts. A comprehensive report was presented during the meeting, focusing on the training program launched to facilitate employment opportunities for the children of police personnel. Rajeev Deshwal, AIG, Police Modernization and Welfare Wing disclosed a collaboration with Hartron to provide computer training for children. The department is also taking active steps to offer security guard training to eighth and tenth-grade students. Furthermore, preparations are underway to compile a list of children from both regular and contractual employees in Class IV, who will receive training in an upcoming phase. The meeting extensively covered tasks that need prioritization. Mr. Kapur emphasized the importance of officers diligently completing departmental priority tasks within specified timeframes and ensuring that all departmental personnel have a clear understanding of immediate-action tasks and how to address them. As priority tasks are completed, new responsibilities will be integrated to maintain system efficiency. A team-like approach with enhanced coordination was stressed to expedite work. Officers and employees across all wings were encouraged to have a clear grasp of their priority areas and related action plans. The meeting also discussed various matters, including online challan submissions, service rules, new recruitment, the establishment of a cyber police station, the appointment of legal advisors, and the quality investigation of cases.
