The Haryana government has given big relief to the businessmen of the state. Thousands of traders have come under the ambit of social security under the Chief Minister Traders Group Personal Accident Scheme. Under the scheme, they will be eligible for a compensation of Rs 5 lakh in case of accidental death or permanent disability. Beneficiaries will have to register themselves through an online portal developed by the Haryana Traders Welfare Board (HTWB) with an annual registration fee of Rs 10 per lakh. Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) of the Haryana Government, Anurag Rastogi has issued a notification regarding this. According to this notification, the beneficiary businessman must be a registered taxpayer under the GST Act 2017. An institutional grievance redressal system has been set up in case of any problem related to the settlement of claims made by the beneficiary traders. The disputes will be resolved by the District or Sub-Divisional Grievance Redressal Committee, of which the ADC and the Chairman of the District Advisory Committee of HTWB will be members.
Partnership firms, proprietorship firms and limited liability partnerships are also eligible for the scheme. Beneficiaries with 70% and above disability will be eligible for relief.
