Haryana Congress needs complete overhaul ahead of Lok Sabha polls

Congress, the main Opposition party in Haryana, has been in political exile for the last 9 years and is trying its best to strengthen its position ahead of the upcoming Parliamentary elections. The party has to face the battle on many fronts simultaneously. Due to pending organizational appointments in the party for years, it is not getting the desired strength. The ongoing bickering among party heavyweights could result in loss in the coming elections. Apart from this, the party will be looking for new candidates in many Lok Sabha seats.
Initially, Ashok Tanwar was the State President then and during his tenure, he could not make any organizational appointment. Widened rift among the party stalwarts kept the organizational appointments pending and following this, he was removed from the position. Following his resignation, Kumari Seleja was assigned the portfolio of the state president but the things remained unchanged as she also failed to come up with organisation appointments in the party and due to his dispute with Bhupender SIngh Hooda, she resigned from the post.
After his departure, Hooda loyalist Uday Bhan was put on the post but the situation remained the same. Of course, Hooda and Uday Bhan have been continuously saying that organizational appointments will be made soon, but this could not be implemented.
There is another challenge ahead of parliamentary elections as several bigwigs who contested on party tickets in many seats last time left the Congress and joined the Opposition factions. Nirmal Singh and Ashok Tanwar, who contested on behalf of the party from Kurukshetra and Sirsa seats respectively have joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Similarly, Bhavya Bishnoi, who contested from Hisar seat last time, is now in the BJP and contested the Adampur bypolls successfully. Avtar Singh Bhadana who was made to contest the elections from Faridabad seat also left the party. In all these seats, Congress will be looking for strong candidates to win the elections. In this episode, the Congress has decided to conduct a survey under these circumstances.
