Haryana and Himachal Pradesh officials discuss Kisau Dam water allocation

Haryana is expected to get water from Kisau Dam soon. Regarding this, the second meeting of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh has been called in a week. CS of both the states are present along with Chief Minister Manohar Lal in this meeting being held in Chandigarh. Finance secretaries of both the states are also present in the meeting. In this meeting, discussions are being held on completing Kisau Dam soon. Haryana currently gets 47% water from Kisau Dam. If its construction is completed, the state is likely to get about 500 to 600 MW of electricity. The first meeting was held on January 10.

Six days before this, on January 10, the Chief Secretaries of both the states had held a meeting regarding Kisau Dam. In this meeting, both the states discussed removing the obstacles of Kisau Dam. It was decided in the meeting that both the states will form a committee regarding this.

To solve the technical issue, Himachal will also form a team and Haryana will also form a team. After communication among the teams, the project which has been pending for a long time will soon be able to move forward.

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal had told after the first meeting that the patients coming from Himachal to Chandigarh for treatment face a lot of problems in accommodation and stay, in such a situation Haryana will give them land for a building in Panchkula. Haryana has given options of 3-4 places to the government.

A group of officials from Himachal will come to Panchkula to see the place. This group will see what could be the most suitable place. In terms of land, our interest is in Panchkula only. We will form our team of officers in 15-20 days.
