Habitual offender Mohammad Ali faces high-security detention

The Commissionerate conducted its first operation on Thursday under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1988). In this operation, habitual offender Mohammad Ali, involved in the trafficking of narcotic substances, has been sent to the high-security jail in Ajmer, ensuring that he won’t easily get bail. This action was taken under the Act after approval from the Home Department.
Commissioner Biju George Joseph explained that, as per the directives of the Police Headquarters, this operation was carried out to effectively act against habitual offenders involved in the trafficking of narcotic substances. It identified those traffickers who, despite being habitual offenders, repeatedly obtain bail through legal loopholes and return to society. In this series, the first operation under the NDPS Act was conducted against Mohammad Ali, a habitual trafficker of intoxicating substances residing in Ganga Vihar Colony in the Shyam Nagar Thana area, on December 14. As a result, the Shyam Nagar Thana police initiated the process against Ali in front of the Home Secretary.
There are 8 cases of drug trafficking registered
After receiving the green signal from the Home Department, trafficker Ali was shifted to the high-security jail in Ajmer. Ali has eight cases registered against him for drug trafficking. During his arrest, a total of INR 8,63,710 obtained from selling narcotic substances was also seized. The police state that whenever Ali was arrested, he would obtain bail from the court, come out of jail, and then engage in drug trafficking once again.
