Gurugram: 1 shot dead at Manesar wine shop

Police in Gurugram’s Manesar reported that two individuals opened fire at a wine store, leaving one person dead and another injured.

The shooting incident occurred on Friday at 8:30 pm in a wine store in Pachgaon Chowk in the city’s Manesar neighbourhood. The injured were taken urgently to a hospital nearby, but one person died from their wounds while another was being treated. Police said that two bike-riding individuals in white clothing opened fire with more than 15 shots at members of the public and business patrons before fleeing. There was a CCTV set up that recorded the entire episode.

Avit Kumar, SHO of Manesar, said “A shooting incident occurred at a liquor shop near Pachgaon in Gurugram, Haryana. Two people fired indiscriminately at the public and customers present during the incident, resulting in one death and one injury. The police are investigating the incident to identify the shooters.”

A forensic team, top officials, and a police squad arrived to start an investigation after staff at the wine shop called the police to report the shooting. Police claimed to have found 15 cartridges there.

The deceased have not yet been named, and according to authorities, the cause of the horrifying shooting will only be known after a thorough investigation. Images taken at the scene showed blood on the floor and broken shop windows.
