On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a 54-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman at the Sarangpur temple in Botad district, Gujarat.
Shah is in Gujarat today for a series of events commemorating the BJP’s 44th anniversary. He emphasized the significance of the Sarangpur temple, claiming that thousands of people visit it.
Reminding people that this year’s Hanuman Jayanti and the BJP’s foundation day coincide, he chronicled the BJP’s rise from a marginal electoral force in the country to a majority in Parliament on its own.
He said, “Today it’s a coincidence that it is Hanuman Jayanti as well as BJP Sthapana day. On 6 April 1980, people were making fun of the party but today BJP is the ruling government in various states and the party has more than 400 MP.”
The Union Home Minister claimed that the people of India fully supported the Modi government’s repeal of Article 370.
“When the BJP won a majority in Parliament on its own, people wondered what would happen to Article 370. Citizens of this country believe that the same rules should apply throughout the country. “On August 5, Prime Minister Modi removed Article 370, and people all over the country were relieved,” Shah said.
