GST Department conducts raids on architect firms for suspected tax evasion

Four teams of the GST Department conducted raids on multiple Architect firms in the city on the suspicion of tax evasion.The department officials examined GST returns, business models, past filings and portal-based data, and conducted on-site visits to gather crucial information.

According to the UT Administration, the inspections yielded substantial evidence, including pen drives, computers, loose documents, dairy notebooks and registers. Necessary proceedings have been initiated by the department.

Inspections of architects follows, the raids on six immigration firms few days back. In recent past, The department raided Boutique stores. The department is conducting raids on different services sectors, and sending, a message that service sector is being watched by the department to ensure tax compliance.
