The Haryana government has issued showcause notices to several officials involved in registering property in violation of norms.
The government took action against 125 tehsildar, nayab-tehsildar, 176 patwaris and 96 registry clerks following an inquiry regarding the issue. The government has asked divisional commissioners to submit pending reports of patwaris and registry clerks.
PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) who also holds the charge of Financial Commissioner Revenue, said: “As many as 125 tehsildars, nayab-tehsildars, 176 patwaris and 96 registry clerks have been issued show cause notices following allegations against them. The reports of several districts are yet to be received and necessary action will be taken into matter.”
A total of 24 tehsildars have been issued notices after the irregularities surfaced in several cases of registering the properties. Taking into consideration 189 complaints, 2 nayab-tehsildars were asked to clarify their position. Besides, 23 patwaris and six registry clerks were issued show cause notices in 8182 cases in Karnal Division. Out of these, 10, six and eight tehsildars were involved in breach of norms in Karnal, Kaithal and Panipat districts, respectively, while registering property.
Apart from this, five, two, and five nayab-tehsildars also have been served show cause notices in the above districts. As many as 23 tehsildars were found violating the norms in Faridabad division and out of these, nine, nine, and five tehsildars have been sent notices in Faridabad, Nuh and Palwal districts, respectively. Besides, 29 nayab-tehsildars have been asked for clarification.
In Gurugram division, the government has sent notices to 37 tehsildars for not following the norms in Gurugram, Mahendragarh and Rewari districts for registering properties in violation of norms.
Similarly, 19 teshildars have been served notices in Rohtak Division. In Hisar division, eight tehsildars were found breaching the norms. Eight tehsildars were served notices in Ambala Division too.
