The Haryana government has prepared a draft policy for promotions within Group-A, Group-B, and Group-C positions and has sought feedback from heads of all departments within a week. Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, providing information about this, stated that the objective of this policy is to promote administrative proficiency by initiating progress based on written examinations. To maintain transparency and gather input, the state government has asked all administrative secretaries and department heads to provide comments and suggestions within a week. The draft notification will be considered correct if feedback is not provided within the specified time frame.
He mentioned that the eligibility conditions for promotion will remain as before, in addition to the departmental written examination for those aspiring for promotion positions. The departmental exam will be of a qualifying nature. He stated that promotion will be based on the criteria of “eligibility with seniority.” After passing the departmental examination, the appointed officer will consider promotion for eligible employees based on the seniority list according to the prescribed process. He has directed all department heads to provide their feedback on this policy related to promotion within the next week.
