Govt college organizes Two-day workshop for personality development

Under the able leadership of the Principal of Government College, Kalka, Promila Malik, a two-day workshop on personality development and interview skills was successfully organized on Tuesday. Principal Promila Malik stated in her address that the objective of organizing this workshop is to refine and cultivate the personalities of the students. She emphasized that culture plays a significant role in personality development. When individuals lack values, they distance themselves even from beautiful people. The reflection of a person’s thinking is visible in their personality, so it is crucial to always think and do good.

The keynote speaker for this two-day workshop was the renowned educationist and social reformer Benu Rao. During her motivational session, Mrs. Benu Rao provided detailed information to the students about personality development, English language, communication skills, and self-confidence. She conveyed that self-confidence is the key to success in life, regardless of the chosen profession. A great personality stems from good communication skills, and effective behavior arises from self-confidence. Interview skills are vital for the youth, and Mrs. Benu Rao offered advice on how to excel in interviews, emphasizing the importance of active listening, confident communication, maintaining eye contact, punctuality, positive self-presentation, appropriate attire, and adherence to common etiquette.

The students actively participated in the workshop, asking numerous curious questions, all of which were promptly answered by Mrs. Benu Rao. Additionally, she provided guidance on crafting an effective resume. The two-day workshop, organized under the guidance and direction of Placement Cell in-charge Professor Sunita Chauhan, Professor Dr. Bindu, Professor Dr. Gitanjali, Professor Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Professor Dr. Indu, Professor Dr. Navneet Nancy, Professor Dr. Gurpreet, Professor Dr. Pradeep, and Professor Sonia Jassal, was deemed highly successful, with students gaining valuable insights and skills.
