On Sunday, the statehood days of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura were celebrated at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Governor Kalraj Mishra extended his wishes for the statehood days, stating that these three northeastern states are not only endowed with natural beauty but also hold significant heritage of indigenous Indian culture. During the event, the Governor engaged in informal dialogue with representatives from all three states present at Raj Bhavan.
While discussing the traditional folk culture and tribal traditions of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura, Governor Mishra called for collective efforts towards the development of these states and the vision of ‘One India, Best India.’ He mentioned that under the Northeast Reorganization Act, these three states came into existence on January 21, 1972. Despite being surrounded by water bodies, forests, and hills, the people of these regions have preserved India’s indigenous culture. During the celebration, residents of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura shared their experiences of living in Rajasthan.
