The festival of Gita Jayanti was observed with great enthusiasm in all the temples of Chandigarh, following the call of the internationally renowned Gita sage Mahamandaleshwar Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj. The celebration saw the participation of a large number of devotees who collectively conveyed messages of goodwill, love, and peace by reading the Gita together for one minute. BP Arora, President of Hindu Parv Mahasabha, Chandigarh, and Kamlesh Chandra Suri, General Secretary, expressed that the Gita is not merely a book of faith for Hindus but also a guide for the well-being of humanity as a whole.
The event included the recitation of all three verses, and discussions with the city’s intelligentsia were held on the auspicious occasio of Gita Jayanti. During the festivities, the revered Swami Gyan Anand emphasized that the Gita is a unique scripture advocating the welfare of all living beings and is a source of pride for India. He highlighted that the teachings of the Gita, delivered on the battlefield of Kurukshetra 5160 years ago during the war between Kauravas and Pandavas, remain relevant today amidst natural disasters, wars, and global tensions.
Swami Gyan Anand emphasized that embracing the principles of the Bhagwat Gita is the only solution to restore peace in a world marred by unrest and a lack of values. As part of the celebration, the Ashtadash Shloki Gita text was recited, and pamphlets were distributed among the devotees. Swami Gyan Anand urged the integration of Geeta teachings in various aspects of life, including the court, workplace, school, and every home, as a means to attain global peace.The event was attended by key officials of the organization, including Chief Patron Ramesh Malhotra, YK Sarna, Lakshmi Narayan Singla, LC Bajaj, Ramdhan Aggarwal, Ajay Kaushik, Arunesh Aggarwal, JL Gupta, Mohanlal Gaur, LC Bajaj, Padam Rai, Rajendra Gupta, Anuj Kumar Sehgal, Pankaj Gupta, Dharampal Sharma, Ashwini Rishi, Adarsh Kumar, Ratanlal, and officials from all the temples.
