Ghulam Nabi, Altaf Bukhari and other to join hand to fight against I.N.D.I.A bloc

In the midst of the ongoing crisis within theI.N.D.I.A bloc and the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) in Jammu and Kashmir, key leaders including Gulam Nabi Azad, Altaf Bukhari, and Sajjad Lone have hinted at the formation of a grand alliance to counter them.

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Guardian, former Minister and Senior Vice President Gulam Hassan Mir disclosed, “We had a meeting in Srinagar where our leadership authorized president Altaf Bukhari to engage with like-minded parties and leaders to form a Grand alliance aimed at countering both the I.N.D.I.A bloc and PAGD.”

Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, another senior leader and party spokesperson, emphasized the urgent need for peace and stability in Kashmir, stating, “We don’t want more youth and people of Kashmir to suffer as they did during the previous regime of PDP-Congress-National Conference. We aim for a peaceful Kashmir.”

This move comes following the earlier declaration by the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) and the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) expressing openness to discussions with similar-minded parties for a pre-poll alliance in the Union Territory for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

However, Altaf Bukhari-led JKAP has ruled out any alliance with the BJP for now due to ideological disparities. “We have proposed to talk to various like-minded parties who want to work for the prosperity of the people of J-K,” stated Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Mir.

DPAP’s chief spokesman Salman Nizami echoed similar sentiments, indicating that discussions for the alliance were in the initial stages, with the final decision to be made by DPAP chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad in the coming days. As political dynamics continue to evolve in Jammu and Kashmir, the formation of a grand alliance could significantly impact the region’s future trajectory, providing a platform for concerted efforts towards peace, development, and progress.
