Well-known TV actress Geetanjali Mishra, who has roots in Varanasi, despite receiving no regular income for the past few months due to Covid-19, has been distributing 15 days of ration to those who are suffering economic hardship in this pandemic. Till now she and her team have distributed ration to close to 500 families.
The Daily Guardian spoke to Mishra, who apart from being the face of the cult TV series Crime Patrol has also acted in Balika Vadhu, Ek Lakshya, Maati Ki Banno, among many others. Mishra, who runs a small “Covid Support Team” to support needy people, plans to turn this team into “National Support Team”. Excerpts:
Q: How do you manage helping others while earnings are on pause?
A: Savings were made in this life and we can again do that, but this time food for people is more important than my savings.
Q: How do you manage to help people out of Mumbai?
A: By ordering online, the ration is delivered to the people in need. So far it has been done in Delhi, Gujarat, UP, Bihar and Rajasthan, apart from Mumbai.
Q: What is the biggest gain you achieved from all this?
A: Blessings of people and more importantly if people get inspired and do the needful in their reach, half of the problems will be solved.
Q: After recent work in Abhay 2, what are the upcoming projects?
A: I have many projects in my hand and my upcoming is movie Ludo by Anurag Basu sir.
