In a significant appeal to honour the historic Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony in Ayodhya, Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to declare January 22, 2024, a public holiday throughout Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Recognizing the cultural and religious importance of this event, Gupta emphasized the need to allow residents to participate in the celebrations without hindrances. In a statement released today, he urged LG Manoj Sinha to consider the sentiments of the people and acknowledged the historical nature of the event.
Gaurav Gupta has also submitted a representation to the Raj Bhawan, appealing for the closure of meat and wine shops across the region on January 22, declaring it a dry day. He pointed out that several states have already taken this step to ensure a culturally respectful celebration for all.
Additionally, Gupta implored LG Manoj Sinha to instruct the relevant authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout Jammu and Kashmir on January 22, aiming to enhance the overall experience of this auspicious day.
Highlighting the importance of a harmonious and inclusive celebration, Gaurav Gupta’s recommendations aim to respect the sentiments of the general public, ensuring that the residents can partake in the festivities without any disruptions.
