Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, a gangster incarcerated at Kapurthala’s modern jail, sparked turmoil by damaging an LCD screen amid stringent security arrangements.
Following a complaint by the jail administration, Kotwali Police has filed a case against the gangster under sections 427 of the IPC and Section 42-A of the Prison Act.
Deputy Superintendent (Security) Navdeep Singh stated that on December 29, 2023, high-security barracks were equipped with LCD screens on the Punjab government’s directives.
A dispute erupted between incarcerated gangster Jagdeep Singh, also known as Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, and another inmate. During the altercation, Jaggu, in a fit of anger, ripped off the LCD screen from the wall, hurled it on the ground, and damaged it, injuring himself in the process.
Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria has caused damage to government property and endangered the lives of inmates by tampering with electrical equipment. In response to the jail superintendent’s complaint, Kotwali Police has registered a case against Jaggu.
