Galaxy Tab S7 stands out as the best Android tablet you can buy

Samsung has decided that even though 2020 might not be a good year in general, they will continue getting some great products for their consumers throughout this year. We have seen how one after the other the brand has filled the market with smartphones from affordable to flagship smartphones. Now it’s time for the Samsung Tab S7. Need of the hour is to be working and still being home and safe and that seems to be the brand’s intent when they introduced the S7 in the Indian market.

Specification

The device runs on an Android 10, One UI 2.5 operating system. It comes with an 11-inch LCD screen, 2560×1600 resolution and offers 120Hz refresh rate with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor. The device offers two variants with 6 GB and 8 GB RAM and storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512GB. The device has 13MP+5 MP primary camera with an 8MP front camera. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with 8000 mAH battery and its dimensions are 165.3 x 253.8 x 6.3mm.

Looks and design

There is nothing to complain about. As you look at the aluminium body, it oozes out luxury. It is nice, thin, and sleek to hold and the speakers allow for stereo sound which is enjoyable. The power button gets the fingerprint sensor as well. The tab’s design appeals instantly and feels class apart. Design is essential but display holds more importance. Samsung equipped the Tab S7 with an 11-inch LCD panel, touting a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. LCD tech isn’t as impressive as the AMOLED setup. It has good colours and viewing angles, everything is perfectly sharp, and that fast refresh rate is an absolute joy. Whether you’re browsing any social media app, scrolling through emails, or just navigating your home screens, it gives addictive fluidity.

Performance

The tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ and comes in 6 and 8 GB RAM options. S7 for me, performance wise, has worked very well. Multi- tasking has been easy and seamless. Battery of S7 will leave you satisfied. Been using this device as my go-to device for watching videos and attending webinars. The device hasn’t failed to impress with its battery. You also get a 45W wired charging as well.

S Pen

One extremely important feature of Samsung Tabs: S Pen doesn’t come with an extra cost. It works just as you’d expect for drawing and note-taking, though this version has the same 9ms latency that was introduced on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Software

Talking about the software of this device, Samsung has up the ante. Having an Android at the core of a tab might not be the best choice but Samsung has done enough patch up to make the whole experience worthwhile. Calls and texts from your Galaxy phone will show up on the Tab S7; there’s a Daily Board UI that turns the tablet into a makeshift smart display when it’s charging, and Samsung DeX.

Samsung DeX

What does Samsung DeX do? It takes the traditional Android interface and transforms it into something that looks a lot like Windows. When paired with the official keyboard cover, the ability of possibilities are a lot. DeX still does have a few hitch points. Especially when we need to use it on some regular applications. Some Android apps are not sure how to be used when asked to run on DeX.

Verdict

Galaxy Tab S7 stands out as the best Android tablet you can buy. Samsung offers premium design 120Hz display, blazing-fast performance, and solid battery life. The S Pen is also included for free. If you are someone who doesn’t like an Android Tab then maybe S7 wouldn’t be your choice. The device is priced at Rs 63,999.
