Terror ecosystem in J&K isolated through developmental schemes: Manoj Sinha

Since 30 years, Pakistan has supported terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, but the ecosystem that grew out of that assistance has been cut off, according to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

According to the J-K LG, a new era that has unlocked boundless opportunities for growth and peace is currently taking place in the Union Territory.

“For almost 30 years, this land of peaceful co-existence of almost all religious sects had to suffer state-sponsored terrorism by our neighbouring country,” he said at the inaugural session of the third tourism working group meeting of G20 countries at SKICC here.

He claimed that because to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives and the Union Territory’s efficient management, the ecology supporting terrorism has finally been cut off.

According to Sinha, Prime Minister Modi has totally eradicated the unfairness, exploitation, and prejudice that various segments of society endured for seven long decades as a result of circumstances that developed mostly as a result of foreign orchestration.

J-K stands among the developed regions of India on some measurable milestones, and “we are committed for people’s prosperity both economically and socially,” he said.

The green buds of brighter times that people are eagerly anticipating are now even bringing international investments to Jammu and Kashmir, he noted. The deep dive activities, according to Sinha, show how determined India is for J-K to share in the democratic benefits enjoyed by the other states and Union Territories.

He said, “Our concentration on technology is changing J-K into a digital society. Grassroots democracy has been strengthened, new industries are emerging, rapid agricultural growth is making our villages prosperous, infrastructure development is moving forward quickly, and so on.” Regarding the surge in tourism Sinha stated that a record number of more than 18 million visitors came to the union territory last year. In addition, he said that more than 7% of J-K’s GDP came from tourism in 2017.

According to the LG, more than 300 films were filmed in J-K last year. After a hiatus of over four decades, J-K has rekindled its relationship with Bollywood and will introduce a film policy in 2021 in an effort to increase investment in the industry and make Jammu and Kashmir the most sought-after location for filming.

“I am confident that under PM’s leadership, J-K will soon find its place in top 50 destinations of the world and will be on the bucket list of travellers across the globe,” he said.

He said that J-K is creating numerous hiking routes for visitors who enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, as well as the largest book town in the nation on the shores of Wular Lake in the Bandipora region of north Kashmir. Our goal, he continued, is to conserve the beauty of unique heritage monuments while making the countryside and popular tourist attractions more sustainably managed.

According to him, tourism cannot develop independently and requires clear regulations, efficient administration, and good infrastructure.

“No less fundamental to me is the fact that only peace and happiness of people can bring warmth in the hospitality, we Indians eternally enjoy. I would like to mention here that tourism in Jammu and Kashmir is also a reflection of multi-religious and multi-cultural ethos of India,” he said.

The 13 million residents of the Union Territory take tremendous delight in hosting the G20 conference of the tourism working group, which is discussing the world’s architecture for sustainable tourism, according to Sinha.

The entire society, especially the youthful generation, is writing a bright future for themselves and the country, as is evident to the rest of the globe. He continued that the rate and scope of rapid development in Jammu and Kashmir are astounding.
