Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad propels massive rally in Samba

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of the Democratic Azad Progressive Party, addressed an immense gathering at Budhwani village in Samba. The veteran leader rallied party workers, preparing them for upcoming elections and outlining key initiatives if his party returns to power.
During his impactful address, Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed a strong commitment to reinstate the “Roshni Act” if his party regains power. The Roshni Act, previously implemented to regularize unauthorized land occupants and generate revenue, faced controversy and was later scrapped. Azad underscored the significance of reviving such policies for the benefit of the people.
Azad also shared insights into his party’s vision for border security. He recounted his tenure as the Chief Minister when cross-border firing endangered border villages, resulting in casualties. Azad stated, “When I was the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, and cross-border firing was taking place, Pakistan was targeting border villages, and people were suffering. We promised to provide at least five marla land to a safer location for the people of the border. Unfortunately, our government was dissolved after the PDP withdrew its support. In the coming time, if we come to power, we will again initiate this process to make border villagers safe. This will enable security forces to respond more effectively during border tension.”
Azad commended the dedication of party workers and stressed the importance of readiness for upcoming elections. He articulated a vision for the region, promising inclusive and progressive governance. The rally served as a dynamic platform for Azad to connect with the masses, conveying the party’s agenda and rallying support in anticipation of potential elections.
