Senior IPS officer Amrit Kalash, former Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Operations Group (SOG), has officially retired from his position. IPS officer V.K. Singh has taken over as the ADGP of ATS-SOG in his stead. Kalash, known for his extensive service spanning nearly 30 years within the Rajasthan Police force, has left an indelible mark, particularly for his relentless crackdown on liquor smugglers.

Having served in various capacities, Kalash’s impactful initiatives against organized crime during field postings continue to resonate in the state. His formidable actions against mafia elements, especially liquor smugglers, created a significant deterrent effect in his jurisdiction. Even today, the echoes of his effective measures are heard across the region.

In his distinguished career, IPS officer Amrit Kalash established his authority as Police Superintendent in districts like Sirohi, Rajsamand, Udaipur, and Pali, leaving a lasting legacy. The fear of his name among criminals became palpable, thanks to his resolute efforts. His tenure as Police Superintendent witnessed effective actions against liquor smugglers, creating an environment where criminal elements began to hesitate to operate in his area.

Even after his promotion to the rank of Police Commissioner, Kalash continued to maintain law and order by effectively dismantling organized crime networks. During his tenure as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, and Kota ranges, he relentlessly targeted criminal syndicates and disrupted the activities of notorious elements.

Kalash, post his tenure as IGP, continued his impactful service by not only dismantling terrorist networks in the state but also by putting several hardcore terrorists behind bars. His leadership at ATS-SOG further bolstered the counter-terrorism efforts, both at the national and international levels.

Having completed his tenure on January 1, after serving in various capacities, Amrit Kalash chose not to rest but to continue contributing in the field. Post-retirement, he has assumed the prestigious role of Director in the Security and Intelligence Service (India), adding another chapter to his illustrious career.
