Five people were detained on Monday for breaking traffic laws after they were all captured in a viral video riding a single motorcycle.
The culprit was the subject of a Rs. 6,500 challan issued by the police in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act. The five people have also been charged by the police with disturbing the peace. They were brought before the judge and detained.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic Ashoke Kumar said, “A video went viral on social media in which five people could be seen riding a motorcycle in Kotwali police station limits. In the video number plate of the motorcycle was visible and based on that identification was done and action was taken. The motorcycle was seized and five persons were arrested.”
Raees Ahmed was the owner of the motorcycle. Arif, Asif, Irshad, Shamim, and Wasim are the accused. All of them are residents of Moradabad’s Asalatpura neighbourhood.
