The Govt. Multi Speciality Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh in view of the fire incidents happening and to sensitize the staff for disaster preparedness (fire safety) conducted an awareness training and mock drill on 17.10.2023. This training was attended by all senior officials of the health Department, U.T., Chandigarh along with SMO and MO Incharges, the Paramedical Staff including Nursing Officers, Lab Technicians, Operation Theatre Assistants, Reception Counters Employees, and Security Staff. The training was basically to make all the participants regarding the usage and handling of fire safety equipment especially the fire extinguishers.
The Team from Chief Fire Officer, Sector-17, Chandigarh imparted the training and stressed precautions to be taken in the hospital premises do’s and don’ts in case of fire and the importance of escape routes in the hospital buildings. A live demonstration was carried out by the Fire Officers on types of fire extinguishers and the way to use them in case of any fire.
