After the change in government in Rajasthan, there is a continuous sequence of actions against former ministers and legislators of the previous government. In the Baran district, rapid actions are being taken regarding illegal mining.
On Wednesday, the police in Baran filed a serious FIR against five people, including former Rajasthan government minister Pramod Jain Bhaya. The case came to light after a complaint was lodged at the Kotwali police station by Baran Nagar Parishad leader from the opposition, Dilip Shakyawal.
According to the report, former MLA Bharat Singh, from Sangod constituency, had raised his voice against illegal mining several times. He had also made the then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot aware of the matter through multiple letters.
Now, the results of his repeated efforts are apparent as an FIR has been registered against former Mining Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya and five others at the Baran Kotwali police station. However, such cases against him have been filed previously as well.
It is worth noting that in the past few days, the Baran district BJP city president had filed a case at the Anta police station against Pramod Jain Bhaya and Anta Nagar Palika chairman Mustafa Khan, regarding tenders worth crores of rupees. This action has escalated political and social turmoil in Baran.
However, the truth of the matter will only come to light after an investigation. It is a tradition in the Baran district, driven by political animosity, that such cases are filed when there is a change in government. Cases like these are not usually filed when a government is in power.
It is worth noting that Pramod Jain Bhaya, a close associate of former CM Ashok Gehlot, was the Mining and Gopalan Minister in the previous Rajasthan government. The Baran police have taken legal action against Pramod Jain Bhaya, along with Ankur Jain Boriya, Sunil Yadav, Sharad Sharma, and Naresh Tantrik. Former minister Pramod Jain Bhaya is accused of illegal mining and serious allegations of selling land worth around 90 crore rupees on government land behind the Baran district collectorate office.
