Financial aid granted to 350 displaced youth for businesses

In a significant stride towards economic empowerment, the Jammu and Kashmir Government extended financial support to 350 youth from displaced families of PoJK, West Pakistan Refugees, and Kashmiri Migrant families to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys.

Presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Convention Centre, this historic event marks a pivotal moment for J&K’s marginalized communities.
“It is a momentous day for J&K. The financial assistance extended to displaced families today will help them realize their dreams and ignite an entrepreneurial culture within the community,” expressed the Lt Governor.

During a Special Governance camp, various government departments, including District Industry Centers, KVIB, J&K Mission Youth, in collaboration with J&K Bank and the Relief & Rehabilitation department, conducted outreach programs to identify aspiring entrepreneurs.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to creating a progressive entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Lt Governor emphasized entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for fulfilling youth aspirations. He urged young people, especially girls from displaced and migrant communities, to leverage government schemes for self-employment.

Commending initiatives like ‘Sewa Se Swabhimaan’ by J&K Bank, dedicated to the economic empowerment of Kashmiri Migrants and displaced families, the Lt Governor acknowledged the collective effort towards fostering economic independence.
The event also saw the felicitation of officials from various departments for their instrumental contributions to the self-employment initiative.

Key officials including Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department; Baldev Prakash, MD and CEO J&K Bank; Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), along with senior officers, prominent citizens, and beneficiaries graced the occasion.
