Explosives seized in poll-bound Mizoram

AIZAWL: Ahead of the Assembly polls in Mizoram, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police led to the recovery and seizure of a large number of explosives and ammunition. The joint operation by the paramilitary force and the state police took place in Mizoram’s Siaha district. Acting on a specific input about the movement of warlike stores towards Myanmar through the Lungbun crossing, Assam Rifles along with the district police administration launched a joint operation in and around the area Sunday evening and the team spotted two unknown individuals, carrying some articles and they were asked to halt.
