Within 32 hours after the first blast, the second blast at the Heritage Street of Shri Guru Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar shocked everyone. Both the explosions that took place within 32 hours were of low intensity. Police have not found any detonators from the spot. Explosives had been brought in a container, which were kept in Saragarhi parking, said DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The DGP visited the spot on Monday morning. After this, he told the media that the state police are investigating the entire matter scientifically and that the forensic teams are on the spot and an inquiry would be done from every aspect regarding the explosion.
The DGP further said that as no detonator was found on the spot, it is being investigated whether it was someone’s mischief. The DGP said that the Punjab Police are fully capable of protecting people. He has appealed to the people not to trust any rumor. The police will put full information about this on their Twitter and social media handles.
Yadav said that the police will investigate CCTV footage and take statements of the people present on the spot. He said that one injury occurred this morning while the other on Saturday. On the matter of recovery of potassium sulfate and sulfur from the spot, he said that these chemicals are easily available from the market.
