The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest outside the Delhi assembly on Monday against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the excise policy case in which the AAP leader was questioned by the CBI the day before. Outside the Delhi assembly premises, party workers chanted anti-AAP slogans and some even attempted to breach the security personnel’s barricade.
They were protesting during the Assembly’s daylong session, which began shortly after 11 a.m. As the probe agencies tighten their noose, Kejriwal will address the House at 4 p.m., where he is expected to launch a no-holds-barred attack on the BJP-ruled Centre.
In a tweet, the CM said that “I will be speaking in Delhi Legislative Assembly at 4 pm today. Do watch.”
The ruling AAP MLAs attacked Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Monday for objecting to the Assembly session’s summoning, calling it a “insult” to the House. Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla claimed that attempts were being made to undermine the House’s dignity and power, and she also directed that the matter be referred to the Committee of Privileges.
