A former model and ex-girlfriend of a deceased gangster were allegedly murdered by a hotel owner and his associates in Gurugram. The victim, 27-year-old Divya Pahuja, went missing on January 1 after going out with her friend Abhijeet Singh, the owner of Hotel City Point in Gurugram. CCTV footage revealed a body being dragged down a hotel corridor, leading to Singh and two aides’ arrest for the murder. Pahuja, previously accused in the fake encounter of her gangster boyfriend, spent seven years in prison before being granted bail last year.
Authorities at Gurugram’s Sector 14 police station received a complaint from Pahuja’s family, reporting her disappearance after going out with Abhijeet Singh on New Year’s Day. Singh, the owner of Hotel City Point in Gurugram, accompanied her. The family revealed that Pahuja’s phone had been switched off for several hours. Upon reaching the hotel and examining CCTV footage, police discovered a body wrapped in a sheet being dragged down a corridor. Abhijeet Singh and two associates were arrested in connection with the former model’s murder, and efforts are underway to locate Pahuja’s body.
Singh reportedly paid the two aides 10 lakh to dispose of the body using his BMW. The aides, identified as Omprakash and Hemraj, were accomplices in this crime. A police official stated that after the murder, Pahuja and Singh, along with Singh’s associate, reached the hotel around 4:15 am the next day and were joined by at least one other individual. The official revealed, “After they killed Pahuja, two of Singh’s aides dragged the body down the hotel corridor and put it in his BMW. They drove in the direction of Punjab and disposed of the body.”
Divya Pahuja was previously involved with Gurugram’s most-wanted gangster, Sandeep Gadoli, who was killed by the Haryana police in a 2016 encounter at a Mumbai hotel. Pahuja was in the hotel room with Gadoli during the incident. Subsequently, allegations of a fake encounter led to the arrest of several police officials, including Pahuja and her mother, on charges of revealing the gangster’s whereabouts. Pahuja spent seven years in prison and was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in July last year.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Mukesh Kumar highlighted the accused’s attempt to destroy evidence following the murder. Family members, after discovering Pahuja’s switched-off phone, approached the hotel to view CCTV footage but were denied. After filing a complaint, Sector 14 police officials viewed the footage, confirming Pahuja’s body being dragged. The search for her body is ongoing. Divya Pahuja was a resident of Baldev Nagar in Gurugram, while Abhijeet Singh resides in Delhi’s South Extension.A former model and ex-girlfriend of a deceased gangster were allegedly murdered by a hotel owner and his associates in Gurugram.
