Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Sushil Sarwan initiated the deployment of a District Election Department van from Sector-1 DC office. The van’s purpose is to disseminate information to the residents of the district regarding the process of casting votes using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Sarwan highlighted that the van would offer comprehensive guidance to the youth across the district’s four blocks, as well as in schools, colleges, polytechnics, ITIs, and other educational institutions. This initiative aligns with the directives of the Election Commission of India and is scheduled to run from December 11 to January 20.
To enhance awareness, the District Election Office has strategically placed promotional materials, such as banners, in the SDM Office Kalka and SDM Office Panchkula. This is aimed at ensuring that individuals visiting these offices can obtain information about the campaign.
District Election Officer Sarwan urged the district’s residents to familiarize themselves with the process of using EVM machines for voting and encouraged those aged 18 and above to obtain voter cards. Election lawyers Kuldeep, Amit Pawan, and Mamta were also in attendance during this event.
