New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday went to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and submitted him a memorandum, which the party claimed has been signed by 2 crore farmer surging the government to take back the three farm laws passed by the Narendra Modi government. The Congress delegation was led by Rahul Gandhi along with Ghulam Nabi Azad and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary.

Speaking to the media at the South Block after meeting the President, Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack on the Modi governmentand said that this government is only working for its crony capitalist friends and has destroyed the future of farmers. Rahul Gandhi also said that there is no democracy left in the country.

Earlier in the day, before going to thePresident House, all MPs, CWC members and other senior leaders had assembled at the Congressheadquarters at 24 Akbar Road and wanted to go together to Vijay Chowk, but were denied permission by the administration.

When Rahul Gandhi was meeting the President, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with other senior leaders protested at Akbar Road, and was takeninto custody and sent to the Mandir Marg police station and werereleased later. Priyanka Vadra, too, attacked the Centre and said that theModi government has to take the laws back and added that the Centrehas done a wrong and it has to be reversed.
