Jammu, July 8: An encounter erupted between militants and security forces in the Machhedi area of Kathua district on Monday following an attack on an Army vehicle by terrorists.
Official sources informed The Daily Guardian that a joint team of police and security forces came under fire during searches in the Badnote area of Machhedi. The forces retaliated, leading to a gunfight.
Additional reinforcements have been dispatched to the encounter site, according to officials.
